OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut is investigating a 6-year long outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections that have sickened 17 individuals since 2019. Two of the cases were reported in 2024. All of the outbreak victims have been hospitalized. Two people have died within 30 days of detection of the infection. The outbreak strain has been identified as sequence type 1607. The source (or sources) of the illnesses has not yet been determined.
